Police stated they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state early analysis indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for tips.

An important representative commented the attack made him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
